About

The Warmth of Summer

Summer is hot and humid. The skies are majestic. Right before the sun sets the fireflies light up the air. Our kids try to catch them and horses stare up at them as the yard fills with giggles. By this time we know if we will have a good year for our veggies and fruit. We can determine how much farther we need to go out with feeding the pigs before the end of the year harvest.

The Colors of Fall

In the fall upstate New York pops with color. The air is crisp and and the leaves are astonishing with golds, yellows and reds. We gather our harvest. We bring are pigs to market. Chickens will be separated from good layers to ones that didn’t bring forth enough eggs. Everything is put in order for winter.

The White of Winter

Winter is New york is full of snow. Really a beautiful time of the year as well as a hard time keeping every one warm and happy.

The Lively Spring

In early spring I wake up and hear the birds chirping. I open my window and let the fresh air in. I am eager to get out of the house and start planting seeds in our newly tilled garden. The new babies are welcomed to the farm. Life sprouts right before our eyes. We are anxious to see what is in store for us in the months to follow as well as nervous to make sure everything is in order.
